The Seelie and Unseelie
A mysterious race of beings, the Faerie are a very diverse people that stick to their own kind for the most part. It is a very rare occasion that a faerie being leaves his/her people. There are uncountable Faerie breeds and types. The Faerie tend to stay within the Seelie and Unseelie courts, which are located under hills at a hidden location. If the Fae do not stay within the courts, they usually tend to live away from society, and stay in the boundaries of nature.
Among the Faerie, the ruling race is called the Sidhe. They are considered the high nobles of society, and have come to naturally rule both the Seelie and Unseelie Courts.
The Seelie Court
The Seelie Court is everything full of Light and what others consider true beauty of the Light. This is why it is known as the Shining Court, or Summer Court. The Sidhe and other species of Faerie in the Seelie Court are often golden and shining, with hair of lustrous colors and eyes that glitter with light. They live by the Light rather than the dappled Shadows. The nobles of the Faerie court can often be arrogant and condescending to those that they believe to be beneath them. However, a proper pecking order is in firm place at all times. Also considered as the Summer Court, there is always merry making, feasts, dancing and other amusements of love and light. Even through their differences, the Seelie Court lives by the same founding laws and ways. Sex is never frowned upon, in public or elsewhere. While the residents of the Seelie Court and the Unseelie Court disagree on one another's way of life, they all follow the foundation laws of Faerie Society in total.
The Unseelie Court
The Unseelie Court, is also known as the Winter Court. A darkly extravagant realm, it’s full of odd and often gruesome behaviors and ways of doing things. Humiliation is one of the Unseelie Queen's favorite forms of entertainment. She enjoys forcing others beneath her into situations they never wanted to be in. For the Queen, blood and flesh is sport. The Unseelie Court is based upon its own sense of beauty. Everything macabre, gruesome, and nightmarish are all considered holding their own beauty, with the Unseelie Sidhe at the very top of that list. Goblins with warts and extra limbs are beautiful, Night flyers of the Sluagh, with writhing tentacles along their abdomen, are considered beautiful. Warts, extra eyes, wings, and scales are considered to be marks of beauty and pride. Those of the Unseelie Court are secretive and wary of others at all times. They carry silver tongues and sly ways. The Unseelie Court is founded on battle and blood. It's what gives them their strength.
The Nightmare Court: The Nightmare court are Elves that are fueled by the torture and suffering of mortals and the deals that they make. They are powerful, and the vast majority of their legions are created by the nightmares of mortals if not by procreation of their own race as is typical of the Fae. They are ruled by King Obberon, who is known as the Lord of Nightmares or the Lord of Thorns. The Nightmare Court will only make deals with the most desperate of mortals because of to the Nightmare Court, their suffering is the most sweet.

Laws among the Faerie
- One's word is one's bond: Once a faerie has given their word; they are honor-bound to keep it. An oath-breaker may be punished by death. However, careful wording of oaths can allow 'loopholes', so one should take care when asking for promises from the Faerie.
- Children: Above all else, children are sacred. No matter how a child is begotten, through rape or conventional means, aborting an unborn child is a mortal sin among the Faerie. And the offender will be killed immediately for doing so.
- Acknowledge Beauty: It is considered rude, or bad form, to ignore the beauty of another Fae. While this may seem like outright flirting to those around them, this is a simple matter of etiquette.
- Ability to lie: The Faerie don’t have the ability to lie. However, they can twist the truth and spin a tale until one no longer knows truth from lie.
- Sex: Sexual actions and contact are not necessarily things done in private. Perhaps done a bit less in the Seelie Court, such things are literally part of the culture of the Unseelie Court. Sex may even go on among blood relations, and it is simply looked at as just a fact of life.
- Honor Battle: Rather self-explanatory. When one Sidhe challenges another to battle in the name of honor, a fight to the death takes place before the entire Faerie court.
- Blood Claim: When one Faerie wrongs another in a roundabout way, for example; if Cordelia cursed Liora's mother, and Liora's mother was killed in the protection of Liora, there would be cause for Blood Claim upon Cordelia's name. Liora would be able to hunt down Cordelia unhindered, due to Faerie law, and kill her, even before witnesses, and suffer no repercussions.

- Glamour: Faerie are naturally charismatic due to a natural racial ability called glamour.
- Wizened Race: All Faerie characters can sense other magickal creatures and come with the True Sight ability.
- Natural Order: The Faerie heal at a rapid rate much like Vampires.
Racial Detriments
- Weak to Iron: If attacked and wounded with a pure iron weapon, a Faerie takes an additional double the amount of damage.
- Easily Bribed: Lesser Faerie can be bribed or distracted by shiny object. Roll 1d5 to determine how many minutes a Faerie is distracted. Example: A Selkie <malignant swamp horse> can be dissuaded from eating a child who has fallen into a river, if someone bargains with the Kelpie for a particular desired item.
- Twisted Truth: Faerie can't tell an outright lie. Telling an outright lie can kill a full blooded Faerie. However, they can spin a story until you're convinced that the reality around you no longer exists.
- Cold Iron: Being wounded or run through with an iron blade can cause a Faerie to heal at a human-slow rate. Being bound in an iron cage can cause a Faerie to lose their magick entirely, and cause their life force to flicker out. Cold Iron is considered the weakness of full blooded Faerie.
