You're about to enter a world of grim and dark fantasy with excitement and adventure. Let me take the time to tell you a little bit about the game and the setting, and what you can expect before you decide that you want to enter our world.
The Kingdom of Meztrailov started out as a roleplaying game back in August 2003. Back then the game was known as the Kingdom of Meztrailov and consisted of myself and four other people. When we first started, we were unheard of by most of the mainstream groups of players. We were a group of nameless faces in a sea of role play with nothing to back up our game. But we did it. Our setting started out with a reconstruction of the In Game world, and progressed, to the point where we had legendary heroes and villains like the former King of Meztrailov William Softhaven, to the savior of the nation, Malice Bereou. And in those beginning years there were trials and errors, constant rearranging.
However, you should also know…
No well-rounded project comes out perfect the first time, and this game is not exactly perfect. Many Moderators and Game Owners will tell you that the game has been constantly tested and will always be fixed and revised. Let me tell you something: Meztrailov-Online is a constantly evolving game, where the mechanics and in game systems and in game atmosphere and settings will always change. This game WILL have bugs and "hacks" in the systems, and I'm not afraid to tell you that.
And the reason is simple:
You as the player build this game. You should be aware of what goes on, when something is broken. Since you are the player and will be the one benefitting from these things the most, you should be made aware that not everything is going to be perfect the first go around. But I can guarantee you that this game will satisfy you, and it will leave you asking for more. You as the player should know that while it’s me and my creative staff that produces the mechanics and rules and systems for you as the player to utilize, it's you who keeps this game alive, and it’s something that as Owner and Moderator I have always, and will always preach. If there is something broken, and it’s something your character utilizes, it’s not us punishing you. We need to fix the errors as they present themselves.
So, what kind of game is Kingdom of Meztrailov?
At first this game started out as a simple Kingdom on a fantasy map made with MS Paint. We were nothing more than a white splotch on a map. We also started out in an old form of play that I STILL employ in this game known as Turn Based Logic (TBL, for those old roleplayers that know what I'm talking about and happen to come upon this site.) Since then we have evolved into a dice based game but have decided to return to our roots and have gone TBL once again. The Kingdom of Meztrailov takes place in a world known as Athuras, after being forced to flee their true world, of the Outer Rim Realms; that focuses on Turn Based Logic, with a system of fairness incorporating a d20 dice rolling generator that helps the GM solve any disputes in regards to rules, attacks and dodges, and other similar situations that may arise during roleplay. The Empire of Meztrailov is one setting in a group of many that is ten nations, with technology that combines steampunk with high-fantasy and magi-tech. Black tech does exist, and there is much room for creativity. The Races and Classes offered here are the predominant races and classes of the game, this does not mean there won't be more down the road. Also understand, the d20 rolls are very simple, and are covered under combat.
The setting of this game focuses primarily in a Hopeful World called Athuras, with the people of Meztrailov, led by their Emperor and continuing to survive and thrive in a new world in their vast new empire. In a world subject to random Rifts in Reality opening, horrific monsters, and bold new heroes, Meztrailov Online is definitely the place to be. If you are seeking excitement, adventure, drama, horror, and hope, Meztrailov Online is the place for you. We are a fun group, with a bit of quirkiness and morbidity, but we do not discriminate and we welcome the newest of people to role players, to the veterans of the old days. Here in this game you will make friends and have adventures that will stick with you for the rest of your days!
Meztrailov is not for the faint of heart. We are a mature rated game because there will be scenes of graphic nature. In no way will you be penalized for not wanting to be a part of a particularly graphic scene; its understandable. Not everyone has that constitution. However what you will not find in Meztrailov Online is stagnation and laziness. The game is riddled with quests, puzzles, challenges, and epic rewards for those brave enough to enter the harrowing dark. If you’ve the constitution, maybe you will find that lost tomb holding the ancient treasure, or even find yourself ruler of your own land!
